As part of Gaming Awareness Month, the Gaming Commission, led by Deputy Games Commissioner Kobby Annan, Dr Kobby Boateng, and GHASBO Executive Assistant Eric Azumah, conducted media engagements with major media houses in Accra on 10th September 2024. These engagements aimed to secure the collaboration of media outlets in raising public awareness of responsible gaming practices and encouraging positive community engagement.

The first visit was to Channel One TV, where the team was warmly received. Channel One TV was eager to collaborate with the Gaming Commission to promote responsible gaming. The team was given a tour of the newsroom and technical areas, where they discussed the role media can play in raising public awareness on gaming-related issues.
The next stop was at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC). The GBC Director welcomed the team in their boardroom for an engaging discussion. GBC executives asked insightful questions about responsible gaming and how their platform could contribute to promoting it. Dr. Kobby Boateng reiterated the crucial role that media plays in disseminating information and shaping public perceptions of gaming. The team emphasized that GBC’s involvement would significantly amplify the awareness campaign and help reach a wider audience across the country.
